Glasses Direct are giving away free glasses to NHS staff during coronavirus

Glasses Direct want to show and express their gratitude to all NHS staff with free glasses.

They want to say thanks and recognise all of their hard work and support staff through their endless efforts during the Coronavirus outbreak.

NHS workers can redeem a single-use discount against a pair of prescription glasses for free at This offer isn’t on for long though – NHS workers only have until 30th April to claim.

NHS staff can choose a frame priced up to £20, including clear single vision standard lenses with scratch-resistant and anti-reflection coatings.

The glasses will be delivered for free, usually within three to seven working days for single vision orders.

Barney Streeting, CEO of Glasses Direct, comments, “Where would our country be right now without our extraordinary NHS workers? From all of us at Glasses Direct, we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible emergency services, health and social care workers, and frontline medical staff for their incredible work to keep us safe and well at this troubling time.”

“Since the government announced new guidelines on Monday 23 March, many of the high-street opticians have had to close. We understand NHS workers have limited time and resources to get their prescription glasses, which is why we want to support those with any urgent eyecare needs during these tough times. Those who need prescription glasses can order their frames safely online to their homes. We hope this takes away just some of their worry, if they need new glasses.”

And Glasses Direct aren’t the only ones to show their support towards the NHS for their hardwork.

Some retailers are giving away free hot drinks and discounted food to NHS staff to keep them going whilst they keep us going.

There are also some incredible transport deals too – with taxi firms offering discounts on rides for NHS staff, free parking near hospitals and discount on Brompton Bikes.
